I could hear the words above over and over in my head for the past few days. I waited weeks for some beads to arrive only to find out that they were not the right size or colour. I searched countless websites for replacements and had almost given up when I happened to come across larger beads in my collection that were the exact same colour. After having done and undone this same area several times with slightly different colours, I decided to go ahead and start using the larger ones to maintain unity. This entire experience has been a test of humility. I made the mistake of not counting the beads ahead and I hadn’t thought about running out of beads halfway through a design. From a distance, you really can’t see the mistake but it is there to me every time I lay eyes on it. This is one of the aspects that makes beading more difficult. With paint you can always try to recreate the colours on your palette simply by mixing more paint but with beading, if you don’t do the work and plan carefully, you may end up causing more trouble for yourself as you go. These are the lessons that often come out of making mistakes yet persevering to find another way.
